In addition windex products and all purpose cleaners are generally not safe for granite countertops. This is a tough question to answer in light of the fact that even the professionals disagree. Some say commercial household cleaners such as windex are perfectly safe on a thoroughly sealed granite surface. Others argue that these same cleaners will slowly degrade the surface of both the sealer and the countertop surface.

Don t use abrasive cleaner or pads either because granite can be scratched. Also the stain blocking barrier of your granite sealer could be affected by use of glass cleaner. But repeated regular use can permanently damage your granite tops with pitting and more commonly dulling the shine of your countertops. Allow it to sit for three to five minutes then rinse with water and dry with a clean microfiber cloth.

Clean granite countertops with windex. Occasional use of glass cleaner like windex is convenient. Frequent uses of these acidic substances will dull the granite and weaken the sealant. It all comes down to the ingredients used in cleaning product in question.

You can also use a 50 50 solution of isopropyl alcohol and water. Don t use vinegar windex or bleach on granite.
